Don't risk a fire - Age UK Redditch offering electric blanket testing

WITH winter fast approaching the local branch of Age UK is holding a free electric blanket testing session at its Easemore Road HQ.
According to the Electrical Safety Council, more than 5,000 fires happen in homes every year because of electric blankets and people are advised to get their blankets checked regularly.
Other organisations, including the Fire Service and Act On Energy will also be in attendance to offer advice about staying safe and warm this winter. Tea and cakes will also be available. Should your electric blanket fail the safety test, a new electric blanket is offered for a nominal £2.50 donation.
