POLICE have issued advice to homeowners after a string of attempted burglaries where offenders have removed or snapped off the back door locks on properties.
It comes after three homes in Alcester were targeted.
Two of the incidents happened on Friday (October 21). In the first, at a house on Captains Hill in the afternoon, the lock to the rear upvc door had been removed.
In the second, on Friday evening at a property in St Mary’s Road, the lock was once again removed.
The third was on Alne Bank Road where the handle and outside part of lock on the rear door was removed. This was reported late afternoon on Tuesday (October 18).
In all three incidents the would-be burglars still failed to gain entry and nothing was reported stolen.
A police spokesman said: “We have experienced another string of burglary offences on the estates off Captains Hill.
“In nearly all cases the locks of the rear doors have been forced and removed.
“This can be done by an offender in seconds depending on the make and model of the lock.
