Redditch rocks at Mayor Joe Baker's charity concert night

A GREAT turn out and a lively atmosphere met those who attended a night of music in Redditch last Saturday in aid of three vital charities.
Organised by Redditch Music Festival, the concert on Saturday (October 22) saw St Stephen’s Church turned into a concert venue for the evening and the Redditch Rock Choir joined swinging jazz quartet Chuck Harriet in the town centre concert to boost the borough mayor’s charities.
The mix of music, which included some vintage swing and some modern rock with a twist kept audiences entertained and all proceeds from the £10 ticket price are going to Mayor Councillor Joe Baker’s three chosen charities – the Samaritans, the Redditch-based Mental Health Action Group, and Craig and Charlotte Saving Hearts Foundation.
“The acts were fantastic and really lively – they got lots of people up on their feet dancing,” said Mayor Baker.
“I was very privileged to see the talents that Redditch has to offer and I was very impressed.”
