A GROUP of colleagues from Redditch have been getting a buzz out of fund-raising and have braved the shave together for charity.
The group of four – Rosie Slater, Gillian Butterworth, David Fisher and Joseph Orme – who all work at Sigma Financial Ltd – decided to get involved with the Macmillan Brave the Shave campaign and have the chop.
On October 18, Rosie’s wife, Kimberly, a hairstylist from Ice Maidens’ salon, visited the Sigma team and shaved their heads in front of everyone in the office.
Rosie, aged 29, from Winyates, said: “We had seen the campaign and thought we would all like to stand proudly alongside these people and show our support.
“We have all been affected by cancer, losing both friends and family, and also know people who are going through it right now, and it is turning their world upside down for them.
“We hope we can make a positive difference to people who have to go through this terrible battle.”
So far the team have raised more than £1,700, but hope this will increase as pay-day creeps closer.
