AN Alcester artist and author is making an appearance at Admit One to sign copies of her first two children books this week.

On Saturday (November 12) Melissa Mailer-Yates will be visiting the shop on High Street from 10.30am to sign copies of two books in the ‘Tales of Shakespuss’ series, which are based on the tales of a little white cat called William Shakespuss,

Melissa, who was commissioned by the town to paint a presentation portrait of gold medalist Nick Skelton in 2012, tells the stories of Shakespeare’s plays through the eyes and ears of his cat Shakespuss together with his animal friends and she aims to give pre-schoolers a knowledge and passion for one of the worlds greatest playwrights, long before they are taught it at school.

The stories are the first of at least 25 editions in the Shakespuss series and Admit One, at 27 High Street, Alcester are kindly hosting the signing and stocking the books.
