AN ENERGETIC Redditch man has hopped into the saddle this week for a 24 hour static bike ride in aid of charity.
At 9am on Thursday (November 17) Ryan Kettle, from Oakenshaw South, began the mammoth challenge on a static bike at Willow Trees Community Centre, raising money for Children In Need with every turn of the wheels.
Ryan, aged 24, who works with children and young people with additional needs, said: “Children In Need is important to me, and I am always looking to give as much back as possible to those who aren’t as fortunate as myself.
“I hope one day to become a mentor to young people and work with young offenders, but for now I can play my part by raising some cash.
“I would like to thank everyone who has supported me, including Redditch Borough Council and Abbey Stadium who donated the bikes for the event.”
Ryan is hoping to raise at least £240 for the cause –equivalent to £10 for every hour of cycling – and people can support him at http://bit.ly/2eEZZS8
