BUSINESSES in Studley are set to get the festive shopping season off to a busy start with a brand new Christmas market.
The brainchild of local networking group, Studley in Business, the aim is to encourage residents to shop locally and let them know what a bustling vibrant selection of firms are in the village.
Market operators Sketts are managing the event with the help of volunteers from Studley in Business.
The Christmas market is on Friday, December 2 from 1.30pm until 8.30pm in Millennium Square on Studley High Street – between Studley Health Centre and Millennium House (the old library building).
Millennium Square is owned by local business MBK Training who have generously offered use of the space free of charge for the occasion.
The Studley Christmas market will be held on the same date as the annual Christmas Lights Switch On and Christmas Fayre at the adjacent village hall with the aim of extending the festive fun to a whole afternoon and evening for local residents and visitors.
Siân Smith from Studley in Business said: “We are delighted to help bring this exciting event to our village. Studley in Business was only formed in January but we have worked hard this year to promote the fantastic businesses in our community and to encourage local residents to support them.”
Stalls confirmed to date are: Studley Florist, Trophy Pet Foods (Arden), Sue’s Sweet Shop, Brewin Books, The Shakespeare Inn (serving beer and mulled wine), Studley Royal British Legion, Mr Balti, Studley Rare Breeds, Studley High School and Studley Fine Foods.
The Studley in Business stall will be manned throughout the event by the various businesses who are members of the forum.
