THE Polish community of Redditch came together for a triple celebration at their club in Oakly Road.
November 13 marked not only Polish Independence Day but the anniversary of the opening of the first Polish Saturday school in Redditch and its relaunch ten years ago.
Joining the celebrations were a number of civic leaders including borough Mayor Councillor Joe Baker and the leader of the council Coun Bill Hartnett who said: “It was a great community event with singing, dancing and acting including an hilarious comedy sketch.
“There was also a short film on the history of Poland and it truly was a pleasure and a privilege to join the celebrations.”
Britain owes a huge debt to Poland whose soldiers and airmen fought alongside the British in the Second World War against the Fascists.
