REDDITCH Borough Council is using technology to help them tackle homeslessness in the area this winter.
Streetlink is an England-wide phone line web app and mobile which enables the public, via them, to alert local authorities about people sleeping rough in their area.
The Council’s portfolio-holder for Housing, Coun Mark Shurmer, said: “‘The Council works hard to tackle homelessness all year round and help people in housing need.
“Rough sleepers often have more complex needs and are harder to help.
“Last week officers have been taking a hot snack out with them to encourage anyone sleeping rough to engage with services.
“Streetlink helps us to identify and support these people, especially those new to the street, and work towards a housing solution for them.”
