ALMOST £600 has been raised for the Primrose Hospice’s Lights of Love campaign by Thomas Brothers Funeral Directors.
The annual drive enables residents, in return for a donation, to remember a loved one they have lost by dedicating a light on the Lights of Love Trees.
Their names are placed in a book of remembrance around the Christmas trees in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, at the town’s crematorium and at Thomas Brothers Funeral Directors in Redditch, Wythall and Alvechurch, in return for a donation.
Thomas Brothers held a special blessing of its trees and a moving and poignant carol service was held in Wythall with guests lighting a candle to place around the tree in memory of their loved ones. The event raised £581.28 for the cause.
Simon Thomas, of Thomas Brothers, said: “We are very proud to be supporting the Primrose’s Lights of Love.
“The blessing was a very moving ceremony and it’s great that residents across Redditch and Bromsgrove will be able to remember their loved ones through the campaign.”
Sandra Albright, the Lights of Love campaign fund-raiser, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Thomas Brothers for all of their support, without this generosity, we would not be able to continue our essential work.”
There is still time to take part in the Lights of Love.
