Redditch scouts receive special praise

Imogen Buller 18th Dec, 2016   0

THE Redditch Cub Scouts have been reeling in the praise this week with a letter from celebrity adventurer and ambassador, Steve Backshall.

This year The Scout Association is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Cub Scout section and Redditch Cubs have been marking the centenary by holding cubs100 parties and ‘thanks events’ to thank the volunteers for their commitment.

Writer and television presenter Steve’s letter read: “For 100 years Cub Scouts have been helping in their communities and this year is no different and through our ‘A Million Hands’ project Cubs in Redditch have been helping make their community a better place to live and work.”

The official centenary date is today (Friday, December 16) and Cub Scouts from across the UK, along with Steve, will be renewing their promise.

Half a Million Hands is a community impact campaign aiming to mobilise half a million young people people in support of social issues, removing social barriers, connecting communities and improving lives.
