REDDITCH residents are being asked to help shape the future of transport in Worcestershire by having their say on the new draft Local Transport Plan 4 (LTP4).
The public consultation on the Local Transport Plan is open from today, December 22, 2016 until March 17, 2017. To find out more about what is being planned in Redditch people can now log on to www.worcestershire.gov.uk/LTP .
LTP4 sets out the County Council’s aspirations for investing in our transport networks, including infrastructure, technology and services which are essential to support planned growth and promote social and economic success as a highly desirable place to live work and visit.
This local transport plan sets out the issues and sets our priorities for investment in transport, infrastructure and services to support all relevant modes of transport including walking, cycling, rail, bus and community transport as well as highways.
Anyone can register their thoughts on the plans via the feedback section on the County Council’s website until March 17, 2017. The online form enables people to make comment on specific parts of the plan and its related policies at any time from now until the end of the consultation.
Potential plans in Redditch include improvements investment in highways, walking and cycling infrastructure, passenger transport, traffic management and parking.
Councillor Ken Pollock, cabinet member for economy, skills and infrastructure said: “Good planning and delivery of an efficient, affordable and multi-model transport network is essential if we are going to maintain our claim to be a world class county with prosperous and healthy communities.
“We recognise just how important improving the roads and pavements are to people, as transport affects each and every one of us on a daily basis. To help us get it right it’s vital that people in Redditch get in touch to tell us what they think. Every view will be carefully considered.”
