THE hands-on workshop which closed the year for Redditch Arts Circle saw members working in their usual medium but given the freedom to circulate freely around the various workstations, observing and discussing the techniques and, in some cases, trying them themselves.
It allowed people to have a go at watercolours, pastels, water-soluble paint sticks and pencils, gilding waxes and quilling, to name a few.
Chair, Val Harris, also presented the trophy for ‘Artist of the Year’ which went to Graham Wilson, the overall winner of the club’s monthly themed competition, then it was time for mince pies and wine.
The Circle meets next at St Luke’s Memorial Hall, Evesham Road, Headless Cross on Wednesday February 1. at 7.30pm when the AGM will be followed by a presentation by Jon Hayes entitled ‘Portraiture in Monochrome’.
