AN average of 28 hours of overtime was worked this Christmas by those in hospitality and staff will be running on just five hours sleep a night.
The research by Matthew Clark has revealed that those in the industry will miss out on over 120 hours of sleep in a lifetime – equating to five whole days over the festive period alone, and enough time to pour 840 pints or cook 168 steaks.
The research also found that 64 per cent of workers said that they regularly missed out on sleep over the festive period and nearly 10 per cent said they get by on just three to four hours’ sleep a night.
