BOROUGH Mayor Joe Baker joined local MP Karen Lumley for a tour of the Alexandra Hospital on Christmas Day in the company of Chief Nurse Jan Stevens.
Councillor Baker said: “It was a privilege to attend the Alex on Christmas Day with my consort to say a big thank you to all the nursing staff and workers at the hospital who give so much of their time and care to their patients especially at a time when all the cuts are effecting our hospitals around the country.
“It was also nice to visit the patients and to give them a warm Christmas greeting.
“A big thank you to all our dedicated staff.”
