A GROUP of Redditch Slimming World Consultants have got the magic touch when it comes to weight loss, according to TV presenter Stephen Mulhern.
The team, who run Slimming World groups in Redditch, were delighted to meet Stephen when he presented the annual Slimming World Awards alongside the organisation’s founder and chair Margaret Miles-Bramwell OBE, at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre.
Karen Parkes, who runs several Redditch groups, said meeting Stephen was a wonderful way to round off a great 12 months for Slimming World, as well as get ready for another successful year.
She said: “We couldn’t be prouder of our members. It’s so rewarding to see people being able to do things that they didn’t think possible before losing weight, whether that’s having more energy and confidence, wearing smaller clothes, taking up new hobbies, reducing medication or doing more with their family and friends.”
Stephen, who presents Catchphrase and Britain’s Got More Talent, said: “The stories I heard were so inspirational.
“While all of their stories were different, every one of them spoke passionately about how they felt that they couldn’t have achieved everything they had without the support, advice and encouragement of their group each and every week. The people who run the groups are clearly very important.”
Consultant Claire Jackson, said: “Lots of people will be making resolutions to lose weight and improve their health this New Year and I truly believe that joining a local Slimming World group is the best way for people to lose weight and learn new habits. I’d love anyone who’s thinking about losing weight this January to join us.”
