Thieves target power tools in blitz on Batchley area of Redditch

Ross Crawford 9th Jan, 2017   0

POWER tools have been stolen in three separate break-ins on vehicles in the Batchley area Redditch on Saturday (January 7).

The first incident happened between 4pm and 12midnight in Woodland Road and the second between 6pm and 8am on Sunday morning, in Beech Tree Close, when a large amount of tools were stolen.

The third case was between 10.15pm and 11.30pm from a vehicle in Foxlydiate Crescent.

In all three incidents the break-ins occurred without any obvious signs of one having occurred.

Police in Warwickshire recently dealt with a similar string of incidents when CCTV coverage seemed to indicate that the thieves used an electronic key fob to open the vehicles.

It is believed that many of the tools being stolen from UK works vehicles are being shipped out to Eastern Europe.
