Six of the best for Redditch pantomime family

SIX members of a theatrical Redditch family will be treading the boards together at the Palace next month – spanning over three generations.

Sky Davies is the youngest of the family of performers, at just three years-old and she will be joined by her brother Theo, aged seven, mum Leane, dad Tim, Uncle Cy Wood and grampy Rob Wood in her first ever pantomine, Dick Whittington on February 2.

Mum Leane and from Lodge Park has taken part in 23 Redditch pantos to date, and is excited to have so many members of the family onstage together: “We’ve been rehearsing hard and really can’t wait to hit the stage next month,” she said.

“I’ve been with the Starlight School of Dance since 1986 so it was only natural that the children would join too. They both love singing and dancing and it is a great hobby for them to have not only for their health but socially too and it is great for their confidence.

“I cannot wait to see Skye perform for the first time this year – she is very excited to get on the stage.”

Having roped several other family members to join her onstage over the years, this year is the first time three generations will perform together.

“I really look forward to our annual pantomime and love being on the stage. The atmosphere on and off stage is amazing and it is like being in one huge family with all the performers.

“It is just as much fun now as it was when I was a child,” the 34-year-old added.

The Starlight School of Dance production of Dick Whittington runs at the Palace Theatre from Thursday, February 2 until Saturday, February 4 and tickets are available from the box office or at http://tinyurl.com/jopbnc5 .
