PUPILS at a Redditch school were treated to a futuristic trip around the world – without ever leaving the classroom.
As part of a Google expedition day last Wednesday (January 18), children at Matchborough First School Academy were given the chance to experience virtual reality and explore the whole world from their classroom.
The Google expedition allowed teachers to take their classes on virtual field trips giving them a greater understanding of the world beyond the classroom and the children visited space, Antarctica and even Mount Everest using iPads and virtual reality headsets.
Headteacher Jackie Harris said: “The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was wonderful being able to take them to places that they have never been before.”
