REDDITCH MP Karen Lumley has spoken of how ‘gutted’ she was to miss the key vote on Brexit which went before Parliament on Wednesday (February 1).
Mrs Lumley, recovering from a serious operation performed at the Alexandra Hospital, was too ill to attend the crucial debate and was marked down as ‘abstaining’.
“I’m not very well and have had all sorts of tests,” she said. “I’m not allowed to work but I can assure you I would have been charging through the door to cast my vote in favour of Brexit. I was gutted, it was something I have wanted for years.”
