PEOPLE from all over the county and beyond descended on Beoley to marvel at the magnificent snowdrops on display in the churchyard of St Leonard’s – defying the poor weather.
No doubt the array of cakes and lunches provided by the Mothers Union helped cheer up any damp spirits.
Visitors were able to wander around the church grounds and admire the spring flowers, many with cameras to snap the carpet of white.
As part of the weekend, the church also organised two competitions: The one for photographs was won by John Crumpton with Paul Bridgewater runner up.
The other was a Bookmark competition for local children. In the younger category the winner was Joshua Dudley with Kuba Radwanski runner up, both of Moons Moat First School. The older category was won by Mimi Ellis of Church Hill Middle School with Keira Newman from Church Hill Brownies runner up.
Prizes were presented by Reverend Paul Irving Vicar of St Leonard’s.
