REDDITCH MP Karen Lumley has welcomed the announcement of £4 million in Government investment for traffic beating technology.
Worcestershire county council is one of 19 authorities across England to receive a share of the investment and will spend £300,000 to improve the way traffic incidents are dealt with.
The investment in a cutting edge information sharing system will mean that traffic incidents can be dealt with quickly by highway staff and vehicles.
“This is great news for Redditch and Worcestershire. With this investment, motor incidents can be handled safely and quickly, which means less traffic and less disruption to motorists and business,” said Mrs Lumley.
“This announcement shows the Conservative Government is firmly committed to actively tackling today’s problems with modern and innovative solutions. It’s great to see such forward thinking.”
