RESIDENTS at a care home in Redditch are looking forward to celebrating all things Welsh next week with a tea party in aid of Dementia UK.

On Wednesday (March 1) between 10.30am and noon, the team and residents at Brambles Residential Care Home in Birchfield Road will welcome people from the local community along to their daffodil-themed Time for a Cuppa tea party.

Visitors are invited to pop along and enjoy a hot drink and a variety of sweet treats in return for a donation to Dementia UK.

There will be an abundance of daffodils, with residents also hand-crafting a variety of yellow flowers to transform the home into a scene from spring for the special occasion. Plus there will be toe-tapping music spanning the 1950s and 1960s with live musician Phoebe Marie.

Ivy Flaherty, 102-year-old resident said: “I am looking forward to the cakes and the smell of daffodils – I hope it will be a lovely day.”

Those wishing to attend can find Brambles Residential Care Home on Birchfield Road, Headless Cross.
