RECEPTION and nursery pupils at St Stephens First School are celebrating following the installation of a brand new outdoor fort activity play area funded by the Big National Lottery Fund.
The kit was an instant hit with the youngsters and promises some great adventure playing for the youngsters.
Reception teacher Mark Garrod said: “The new play provides a fantastic physical challenge for the children in the Foundation Stage Unit providing opportunities to climb, balance and crawl. It also encourages them to use their imagination in a creative way. It looks so amazing that even more children will want to spend their learning time outside.”
Head teacher Sarah Callanan added: “We would like to thank the Big National Lottery Fund for kindly providing funding for our St Stephens Fort project. I’m sure it will provide much fun for our young children for many years to come.”
The Big Lottery Fund aims to put people in the lead to improve lives and communities, often through small, local projects.
It is responsible for giving out 40 per cent of the money raised by National Lottery players for good causes.
