EMERGENCY services came to the rescue of a man who had been crushed under a car in Redditch this weekend.
At around 3pm on Saturday (February 25), West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to a house off Castleditch Lane after receiving reports that a man had been injured.
An ambulance and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the scene where they were told that the man in his 50s, had been doing some mechanical work underneath the car when it fell onto him.
Three family members lifted up the car to release him before ambulance staff arrived.
The man had a chest injury and was given pain relief to help ease his discomfort before being immobilised and taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham by land ambulance.
