POLICE are urging the driver who hit and seriously injured a cyclist in Redditch on December 13 last year to come forward.

The cyclist was seriously injured after being hit by a light coloured Vauxhall Astra Van whose driver then failed to stop after the crash and police are still appealing for witnesses who may have seen anything.

Anyone who has since seen the van which was involved in the hit and run incident at around 5pm on December 13, 2016, on Sillins Avenue is also asked to come forward.

The van in question was last seen heading towards Farm Road.

The cyclist, a man in his sixties, suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Alexandra Hospital, before being transferred to the Worcestershire Royal where he was treated for fractures, head and internal injuries.

Officers conducted house to house enquiries following the collision and examined debris recovered from the scene in efforts to trace the vehicle involved.

Police are appealing directly to the driver to make contact with them, as well as anyone in the area at the time who may have witnessed the collision.

Anyone who has information which would help the investigation is asked to call police on 101 quoting 530S of December 13.
