The Shaker Group bought the venue for £1.45m and is intended to be the first of a number of planned hotel sites for the bar operator and training group.

The restaurant, set to open in early April, will be available for brunch, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea, with a contemporary British menu of small plates, sharing boards, locally sourced steaks and traditional pub food.

Lindsey Turner, General Manager said: “Old Rectory House has stood on the Ipsley site for several hundreds of years and is one the most significant historical buildings within the region, having played host to lords and ladies in years gone by.

“Our new private ownership and investment marks another milestone in its history and the fantastic team that provides bespoke wedding receptions and exceptional service will remain with a collective 50 years’ experience of the venue, events and our regular guests.”

New food and beverage manager Scott Walker added:”We’re really excited to be opening the Orangery Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge and we’ve brought together an experienced and energetic team. We believe it will be a great addition to the Redditch and surrounding area.”
