PEOPLE in Redditch and Alcester game for getting muddy in aid of a good cause are invited to sign up for a charity run with a difference.
The Royal British Legion Major Series race in Alcester is a muddy mission designed for all ages and fitness levels and on March 11, runners can overcome obstacles including a grenade range and the infamous inflatable slide at the event at Ragley Hall.
Hosted by British Military Fitness, the obstacle course, including inflatable hurdles and some swimming, aims to challenge participants to have fun and get active – with all sponsorship money raised going towards the Royal British Legion.
As well as the mud run, family and friends supporting the competitors can enjoy a day in the ‘race village’ where music, stalls, food and drink will be on offer.
Harry Sowerby, Managing Director at British Military Fitness, said: “We are delighted to once again host the ninth season of the Royal British Legion Major Series. The Royal British Legion is a charity that we all strongly support, and our 400-plus instructors are all ex or serving military so many have been helped by the charity in the past.
“We hope to see many new faces joining us for the events in March, and are looking forward welcoming all fitness levels from beginner to advanced.
“Don’t worry – there will be help along the whole course, so even if you’ve never done anything like this before, get a team together and come and challenge yourselves, whilst having a great day out at the same time.”
The Royal British Legion is the UK’s biggest Armed Forces charity, dedicated to providing life long support for serving men and women, veterans and their families. Money raised will help the Legion provide support, including employment and housing advice, holiday breaks for those recovering from an illness or bereavement, and recovery support.
