FUN and games were in abundance this weekend at the official opening of Redditch’s new 360 Play Centre.
On Saturday (March 4) Mayor of Redditch, Councillor Joe Baker met with Kingfisher Centre manager Ken Williams and 360 founder and director, Duncan Phillips, to officially open the space in the Kingfisher.
With funfair rides, dressing-up and art activities on offer, the play zone hopes to encourage families to interact as they play and learn together.
Mayor Baker said: “This is a fantastic venue and I was shocked to see the how big this centre is once you’re inside – it;s a bit of a tardis effect.
“I was very impressed o see the different activities the children as well as parents could get involved in, from dressing up as fire fighters to bumper cars.
“The founder, Duncan Philip, told me that his ethos was to encourage parents to engage and play together with their children without using iPads and mobile phones and I think it has so much to offer,”
Around 40 new jobs have been created for people in Redditch and it is hoped the venue will encourage visitors to the town.
Coun Baker added: “I hope that the new 360 venue will also take into account the demographic of Redditch and plan to make its service affordable to all.”
