A REDDITCH student has made it onto the final shortlist to win a national award and a sponsored undergraduate degree, worth over £27,000.
Joshua Hadabora, who studies A-Levels in Maths, Physics and IT at Trinity High School, was entered into Millennium Point’s Young Innovator Prize by his tutor, Jeremy Petit.
Now in its third year, Millennium Point’s Young Innovator Prize encourages students to study Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) courses, and ensures everyone has a chance to reach higher education, regardless of their financial circumstances.
Up against six students from across the UK, Joshua is now in with a chance of winning a S.T.E.M. themed degree at Birmingham City University.
Joshua said: “The concept of the Young Innovator Prize is life changing. University is all I’ve thought about for months, but the fees are, of course, a huge worry. Winning this prize would change my future, so I’m very excited.”
Mr Petit, assistant headteacher at Trinity said: “Joshua deserves his place in the Young Innovator Prize final. He is a very bright and suitable candidate, but his willingness to learn and constantly challenge himself is why he has reached this far.”
