DRIVERS from Redditch and surrounding areas are being urged to consider alternative routes if they use the M5 northbound to the M6.
Next month Highways England is to start an 18 month project to waterproof, repair and reinforce the Oldbury viaduct between Junction 1 (West Bromwich) and Junction 2 (Oldbury).
Project manager Alastair Warnes, said: “We have been planning this scheme for a considerable amount of time and are encouraging traffic to take alternative routes such as the M42 and M6 to keep congestion to a minimum on the M5 and surrounding roads while the work takes place.”
