REDDITCH Food Bank received a welcome top-up courtesy of generous staff at a Wythall-based business.
Life and pension firm Phoenix Group based in Wythall arranged a temporary onsite food collection in aid of Redditch Food Bank when staff attending it’s multi-faith group decided they wanted to give something back.
Phoenix Group’s Malcolm Shaw said: “We all have so much to be thankful for. Being thankful is an important part of many faiths, and we wanted to express this through helping those in local need.”
The group collected an array of tinned and non-perishable foods for Redditch Food Bank, which is part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. They provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred in a crisis.
