STEP out on Good Friday and join the Walk of Witness as it makes its way around Redditch town centre.

Organised by Redditch Churches Together it, starts at 10.30am this Friday (April 14) from the Baptist Church in Easemore Road before making its way to the Bandstand on Church Green, then outside the Post Office, Debenhams in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre before coming to a halt at St Stephens Church.

Church leaders will also be shouldering a large wooden cross – too big to go into the Baptist Church – which will be erected at each of the stops.

Along the way there will be active and engaging readings designed to let people focus on the significance of Good Friday as well as the singing of hymns.

Not only that but palm crosses will be handed out and there will be hot cross buns for folks to enjoy.

Baptist minister Andrew Diaper, the current chair of Redditch Churches Together said: “Our hope is that even if people engage with us for just one stop they will be able to discover that Easter means more than chocolate eggs and a bank holiday.

“Easter shows how much God wants to be in our lives, he was prepared to be in our lives so much he died for us.”

All Redditch churches will be holding services over the Easter holidays for details visit www.facebook.com/redditchchurches .
