VOLUNTEERS from Studley in Bloom are raising a cup to the success of their latest coffee morning.
In all they raised £340 from the event last Thursday morning (April 13) held in the local Co-op store.
A delighted Gill Liebthal, chairman of the Bloomers said: “It was absolutely brilliant; the support we got from local people was fantastic and the cakes went really well.
“A special thanks must go to Diane Clarke who baked six of them and to the staff at the Co-op and members of the public who supported us.
“Everyone has commented on the wonderful planting in the village and we’d like to thank Castle Nurseries who have helped us so much.
“We are also getting a banner from the Royal Horticultural Society letting people know we won Silver Gilt last year.”
Studley in Bloom are have a break from competition this year in readiness for a drive for gold in next year’s Britain in Bloom competition.
In the meantime the team of volunteers are determined to maintain the high standard of floral displays in the village throughout the year.
