CARERS Careline in Redditch is appealing for local residents to support it by becoming members of the Co-op.
The supermarket business is donating one per cent of the price of its own products bought by members to local good causes and Carers Careline is one of those that stands to benefit over the six months to October 2017.
The charity works across Redditch, supporting unpaid adult carers who are looking after family or friends who could not manage without their help.
Such carers often feel isolated and overwhelmed by the task of caring, resulting in serious health conditions and high levels of stress and anxiety.
This is where Carers Careline comes in, offering a range of services including a daily drop-in where carers can go along for a chat, a coffee and a biscuit, as well as being offered practical help and advice.
The charity, which is entirely self-funding, also offers a counselling and bereavement support service, monthly support meetings and outings and trips.
“We have been chosen for their next round and it’s a really easy way of supporting us and the work we do just by doing your shopping,” said Carers Careline manager Fiona Mitchell.
To help out this worthy Redditch charity, simply become a member of the Co-op, which is free, then visit its website at www.coop.co.uk, log in, go to charities and click Carers Careline.
Other organisations featuring in this round include Warwickshire Bears wheelchair basketball, Alvechurch Village Hall, Voluntary Action Stratford and the British Red Cross.
