STAFF at a Redditch building suppliers have been pulling out all the stops to support a local good cause, raising more than £600 in the process.
The team at Buildbase, based in Beoley, have been getting behind a campaign to support Redditch man George Hands, who was recently diagnosed with bowel cancer at the age of just 24.
On Tuesday (April 11) the staff spent nine hours on a static exercise bike raising £663 for a team doing a 300 mile charity cycling trip to Paris.
Joined by four of his friends, Sam Hands, George’s cousin, is leading the mini-peloton to raise funds to help cover everyday costs for George and his family as he undergoes treatment.
Buildbase has also donated all t-shirts, jumpers and coats for the team for the whole trip.
Vicki Clohessy, sales consultant at Buildbase, said: “We are in constant contact with George’s family and they are keeping us updated on his progress.
“We wish George all the best for his recovery and Sam and the boys all the luck for their trip.”
