ALCESTER police scrambled to the rescue when a member of the public rang in with a particularly intriguing case: “We received a call to a property in the Alcester area, where it was reported the front door of the house was being bricked up.” said a police spokesperson.
“Members of the team arrived to find that this was actually the case, although there was no foul play. It was being done as a welcome home prank to a couple on their honeymoon. We hope that when they returned they saw the funny side.”
