Plea for blankets and sleeping bags for Bromsgrove and Redditch Welcomes Refugees

Redditch Editorial 8th May, 2017   0

BLANKETS and sleeping bags are urgently needed by the big hearted volunteers of Bromsgrove and Redditch Welcomes Refugees to help those fleeing war torn parts of the world.

The appeal comes after one of the camps in northern France was gutted by fire with tents, sleeping bags and blankets and possessions all lost.

Now volunteers are so desperate they’ve been busy crotcheting blankets themselves, helped by a workshop at the Old Needle Works in Britten Street.

“There is still a great need since the devastating fire in the Dunkirk camp,” said Sue Yeng of BRWR.

The team will be at The Bridge Church (St Luke’s) at Headless Cross from 2pm to 5pm this Saturday (May 6) and all donations will be gratefully received.
