IRISH dancers from Redditch and Alcester have brought home the gold after competing in an international dance competition.
Dancers from the McCarthy-Felton School, based in Salford Priors and Bidford on Avon, are celebrating their successes at the WIDA International & World Irish Dancing Championships in Killarney last week (April 23).
The group of 34, with ages ranging from eight to 40plus, brought back three world titles as well as six runner-up awards and 174 medals for both solo and team dancing.
As well as their training, the dancers have also been busy raising money for charity during the past few months and in March they entertained as part of a tribute to Irish-Shakespeare historic connections at Shakespeare’s Birthplace, staging a full show to help raise funds for the Bidford Dementia Café.
