Diamond Buses get Redditch schoolchildren onboard with safety posters

Redditch Editorial 13th May, 2017   0

DIAMOND Buses recently ran a competition across local schools in Redditch to design a poster to go on-board buses.

The theme of the competition ‘Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Safe’ encouraged pupils to think about how to behave when using public transport.

Diamond asked the youngsters to think about subjects such as not playing loud music, keeping buses clean and tidy and travelling safely.

Chris Bridges, Diamond Redditch’s operations manager, said: “By asking pupils to get involved through their school, we hoped it would spark some creative designs and some positive discussions in-class about how to behave when travelling on the bus.

“Everyone likes their bus journey to be a pleasant one, but sometimes this can be spoilt when other passengers are behaving badly.”

The three winning children each received a £50 voucher and goody bag plus a voucher of £150 towards new library books or sports kit for their school. The three winning entries will also feature as part of a poster design on all Diamond Buses in Redditch. In addition, the Kingfisher donated prizes for the runners-up.
