A DOG heartlessly abandoned in Redditch last week was so deemed ill it could not be saved.
The RSPCA is appealing for people to come forward with information after the seriously ill dog was thrown from a white van in Edgeworth Close at around midnight last Thursday (May 18)
The female Shar Pei was rushed to a vet who confirmed that she had chronic heart failure and put her to sleep to stop her suffering further.
RSPCA inspector Mark Lewis said: “This poor dog was heartlessly abandoned in the most callous way in her hour of need.
“She was shaking, barely able to walk, and had a very swollen abdomen and overgrown claws. It’s heartbreaking to think such a poorly dog was simply dumped and left to die.”
The person who reported the dog being dumped was unable to get the registration number of the van and did not see the person who dumped her, but anyone who has any information is urged to contact the RSPCA on 0300 123 8018.
