LOCAL Sea Cadets are celebrating a superb month in landlocked Redditch.
Last Sunday Marine Cadets Alex Ludlow and Kyan retained their title of District Paddlesports champions.
Then on Monday Ordinary Cadet Daniel Beardshaw and Marine Cadet Jack Ryan were made incoming borough Mayor Jenny Wheeler’s Cadets for 2017/18, assisting her at formal occasions.
Commanding officer of the Sea Cadets, Sub Lieutenant James Sanders, said: “Our unit is growing, and continuing to achieve great things.
“We are honoured to again be the Mayor’s cadet force, and retain our sporting titles. We are looking to grow in numbers this year and help other young people locally achieve great things.”
The Sea Cadets offer a range of life skills and leadership and youngsters can tackle everything from engineering and nautical skills to studying for Btecs and Duke of Edinburgh awards.
They are currently recruiting young people aged 12 to 18, and for volunteers aged over 18.
