JUNE will be thinned of May – that was the verdict of Councillor Bill Hartnett, the Labour leader of Redditch borough council.
He was speaking in the wake of a BBC exit poll which predicted the possibility of the Conservatives failing to get an overall majority nationally.
Locally, he added that there was a chance his party could do well in Worcestershire.
Graham Vickery, party agent for the Labour candidate in Redditch Rebecca Blake said: “As far as the campaign on the ground is concerned the reaction we have had has always been very positive.
“We have had the best candidate, a local candidate born and brought up in Redditch.
“Knocking on the doors everyone has agreed with the philosophy and policies we have had.
“Everything in our manifesto has been costed and add to that we had the most popular candidate, so we are hopeful.”
