PACK up a picnic and go down to Forge Mill this month – you’re in for a big surprise.

On June 30 the museum will be hosting a teddy bear’s picnic from 10.30am – 11.30am and the annual event for under 5s and their carers includes a teddy trail, songs and games as well as a craft activity.

This year to celebrate the museum’s “Summer of Pirates” the picnic is Pirate and Princess themed so children are asked to bring their teddy dressed as a pirate or a princess.

The activities will be followed by a picnic in the grounds where visitors can enjoy using the site’s play area.

Access and Learning Officer, Debbie Lakeman, said: “We always have great fun at this event and this year we are hoping lots of people will get on board with our Pirate and Princess theme. Don’t forget your teddies and your picnics.”

There are limited spaces available for the event, which costs £4 per adult and child, so places must be booked in advance by contacting the museum on 01527 62509.
