RACHEL Maclean, newly-elected MP for Redditch County, has asked for an urgent meeting with Secretary of State for Health, Jeremy Hunt.
During her first week in Parliament she raised the issue of the Alexandra Hospital and is keen to move forward with her 12-point plan.
Mr Hunt had earlier this year declared that Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs the Alexandra Hospital, was his ‘Number 1 concern in the NHS’.
Mrs Maclean said: “One of my key priorities is to deliver on pledges and to understand how I, in my new role, can best help the situation to an acceptable conclusion for the good of everyone in the constituency.
“As part of my election campaign I pledged to a 12-point plan for the hospital and I am already starting to work to move that plan forward.”
She will also be looking to progress another key priority which is to bring together all the key people in Redditch on this critical issue.
