BOLLYWOOD came to town this week as a published author visited students in Redditch to talk about what inspired her write about the Indian film industry.
Author Puneet Bhandal visited Birchensale Middle School on Monday to talk to students about the Bollywood film industry and how it inspired her to become an author.
Puneet also spoke about writing and how her experiences as a Bollywood film journalist has allowed her to create a unique series of fiction books set around the Indian film industry.
As well as giving pupils an introduction to the world’s largest film industry, complete with song clips from a Bollywood film, some children were given the chance to learn a Bollywood style dance and even get some books signed.
Laura Ridgewell, Head of English said: “Puneet has inspired lots of our pupils with her talk about her books and Bollywood.
“It was a great experience for them to listen to someone who has written about something they are passionate about and the Bollywood dance lesson was enjoyed by all.”
