MORE than 100 people attended the Armed Forces Day ceremony on the St Nicholas Church green, including several World War Two veterans.
The official flag was raised by Alcester Mayor Yvette Morrison, Legion Chaplain Reverend Jim Symonds and retired Major Bob Woodfield.
Branch chairman Mike Gittus in his address gave special thanks to all of The Armed Forces who had been keeping the country safe at home during recent difficult times.
He added: “We celebrate our Armed Forces, past present and future. Today Alcester salutes them for their dedication.”
After the flag raising ceremony The Legion held its annual garden party where tea and cakes were on offer to all taking part.
The day raised £300 for Legion funds.
