STUDENTS in Redditch have been getting to grips with some new art, language and music skills this week.
A special Art and Culture day was held at Matchborough First School Academy last week and children explored the different cultures of Australia, Africa, Spain, South America, Asia and North America.
A visiting graffiti artist also came to the school to work with the youngsters on creating their own pieces of urban art based around their cultural study.
A spokesperson for the school said: “The day culminated in a superb assembly that showcased the pure talents and effort the children had developed. We were very impressed with the range of learning that had taken place.
“It was a great success.”
The artwork created on the day is being displayed throughout the school, including the pieces of graffiti art Year 2 and 3 did with the visiting artist.
