THE bunting-laden streets of Astwood Bank are set to be filled with visitors this weekend as the annual carnival celebrations take place.
At 12noon on Saturday (July 8) a procession of 22 decorated floats, Carnival Royalty, five bands and walking groups will parade through the streets as spectators look on.
This year is the 30th anniversary of the Astwood Bank Carnival and to mark the occasion the procession theme is to celebrate all of the previous 29 themes.
The Carnival atmosphere is set to continue as the crowds flood into the Carnival field which will be packed with stalls, fairground attractions, a bring your own fun dog show, the beer and Pimms tents, as well as the tea tent.
Those looking for entertainment should not be disappointed as the Wye Valley Axe Men strut their stuff and a special flypast by a Lancaster Bomber is expected to take excitement levels even higher.
The frivolities, which raise money for local charities and community projects, will continue until around 5pm.
