LAST week professionals from across Redditch and Bromsgrove came together for a special event specifically for those working with children, young people and families.

The Professionals Fayre event was organised in partnership with Redditch Borough Council’s Parenting and Family Support provider and Worcestershire County Council and was designed as a networking event in which providers could meet other professionals and local providers as well as develop a better understanding of their services and referral pathways.

Information shared included the Levels of Need guidance, Connecting Families and Parenting and Family Support.

Services which exhibited included: Positive Activities (young services), NEET prevention (16 to 18 training for youngsters not in education, employment, or training), SENDIASS (Special education needs / disabilities information, advice and support service), Young Carers, Housing Support, Your Life Your Choice (information, advice and guidance website launching at the end of June), Connecting Families, Parenting and Family Support Service.

Around 80 professionals attended the event which was held last Thursday, June 29 at the HDA Sports and Social Club.

Louise Hall, Community Capacity Builder, said: “The event was created as a result of the Early Help Offer document which aims to give professionals a clear overview of what help is available in Worcestershire.

“The session was really successful and we hope that everyone who attended now has more contacts and a better understanding of what is on offer and how these services could help support the children, young people and families they might work with.”
